Jonas Im Februar hatte ich darüber sinniert, dass Google eine kostenlose Alternative für MobileMe seien könnte. Damals wurde der Exchange Server für Kontakte & Kalender für das iPhone freigeschaltet. Jedoch gab es 2 Knackpunkte:
- Um die Kalender auf dem Mac zu synchronisieren musste ein Einrichtungs-Tool verwendet werden.
- Der Abgleich der Kontakte mit dem Mac klappte mehr schlecht als recht.
Für Ersteres hat Apple aber bereits mit Snow Leopard Abhilfe geschafft. Und Anfang des Monats löste Google auch das Adressbuch-Problem.
Heute hat Google nun nochmal nachgelegt und den Push-Service auf GoogleMail ausgeweitet. Der neue Stand ist also:
iPhone: Mail, Kalender und Adressbuch als Push-Service (Einrichtung)
Mac: Mail über IMAP, Kalender über CalDAV (Einrichtung) und Adressbuch über iSync (Einrichtung)
Soweit ausprobiert: Funktioniert.
